04/26/24 I gave the birds several days to settle in and observe them in their enclosures. Although, I said the birds looked good, I did notice poor feather condition. Four of the six Zebra doves are badly plucked on the nape of their necks. White feathers are present showing signs of repeated follicle damage. Worse than that, the doves’ toes were caked with dried feces. I soaked the birds’ feet in warm water to loosen the hard lumps. After the detritus came off so did the toe nail and toe tips. The toes bled. All of the doves are missing most of their toe nails. One of the Thrushes is missing its tail and its wings are frayed at the tips. Watching the pair in the aviary I noticed the other Thrush pulling at the wing tips. I caught up the bird with the missing tail and the rump is bald, no sign of any tail feathers. I imagine, like the doves, the feather follicles are damaged and the bird will not grow a tail. My friend Anthony Giunta speaks highly of you. That’s why I chose to buy your birds.
