- Pair of Hahns Macaws (aka Red Shouldered macaws), both former pet birds from separate owners that were paired up about 5 months ago. Male has DNA sexing paperwork. Female is a proven egg layer so there was no need for DNA. Female has 1997 band, male has closed band but no date on it. Both eat Zupreem pellets. Getting along well, have not been offered a nest box but might be ready for next spring. Hand fed babies are said to make excellent pets.
Please consider that these birds can be very loud at times and the sound carries, not a good choice for apartment or for close neighbors that are not bird friendly.
