- I have 5 pairs of parakeets and 3 babies that are about 5 months old. The babies are not tame. Get up to two clutches from each pair for the last 3 years. .
They are excellent breeders. Pretty quiet for the most time. They do like to chirp a little in the morning and when you get close to them, like most birds.
