I have two Derbyan Parakeet chicks currently being hand fed. Both DNA hens. Hatched April 17 and 21.
A hand fed Derbyan will be an uncommon addition to your family.
Their feathers are coming in beautifully and both have been very social, snuggly and vocal! Derbyans can be full of curiosity and enjoy learning. Check out YouTube videos of derbyans talking and even learning to put cups inside each other by size and the ring toss (placing ring over hook)
Derbyans are about 18-20” long. Life expectancy can be about 15-20 years dependent upon diet and lifestyle. Because of their intelligence, curiosity and inquisitiveness they’ll need plenty of toys, activities and enrichment to keep their minds busy. This includes attention from you.
